Abstract: | It is argued that the process of operationalizing a (linear) mathematical learning theory consists of a semantical and a 'structural' part. Another important aspect of the application of a theory is evaluating its empirical adequacy (goodness-of-fit, etc.). In this paper problems connected to operationalization and assumptions concerning parameter in-variance and homogeneity are discussed, and illustrated in a contingent two-choice learning situation with partial reinforcement. |
