Differentiation of Self and Marital Adjustment of Clinical and Nonclinical Spouses |
| |
Abstract: | ABSTRACT Bowen theory posits that spouses in problematic marriages are lower on differentiation of self and marital adjustment than spouses in nonproblematic marriages. This paper reports the findings from an empirical study which provide support for this aspect of Bowen theory. Differentiation of self and marital adjustment were also found to be moderately, positively related to each other. Implications for clinical practice and research are discussed. |
