Realism Interweaving with Fairy tale in Heart of Darkness

Joseph Conrad, a Polish - bern English novelist, was regarded as one of the greatest novelist in the English language. Heart of Darkness is his representative work by the distinguished British novelists. And this work is widely regarded as a significant work of English literature and part of the Western canon. This essay aims at discussing the relationship between Realism and Fairy tale through the main characters Marlow and Kurtz＇ s mystical color, it also uncovers the hidden meaning of fairy tale, and then it can be seen that Realism and Fairy tale are closely related. The connotation of Realism can be strengthened by the narrative perspective of Fairy tale.
