Using Ratings to Validate Personnel Instruments: A Study in Method

Affiliation:Dr. E. A. Rundquist took his degree at the University of Minnesota in 1932. He spent 1933–34 as a Fellow of the Institute of Child Welfare conducting research which was published in his well known Personality in the Depression which he wrote with Dr. Raymond F. Sletto. From 1935 until he entered the Army in 1942, Dr. Rundquist was with the Minneapolis and Cincinnati School Systems. From 1942 to 1946 he was a member of the Staff of the Personnel Research Section, AGO. He was discharged in 1946 with the grade of major and has since been Assistant Director of Personnel Research for the Owens-Illinois Glass Company.;Reign Bittner joined the staff of the Personnel Research Section shortly after he received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University in 1941. He was with the Personnel Research Section for four and one half years, first as a civilian and later as an officer. Dr. Bittner was discharged from the Army in January, 1946. He was a major at the time. Early in 1946 he assumed his present position as Director of Personnel Research for the Owens-Illinois Glass Company.
