Computer-Assisted Academic Advising

A computer-assisted program in academic advising for probation students is described and evaluated. The findings suggest that improvement in academic status can be secured by judicious procedures in course selection and enrollment. The paper demonstrates how the computer can be used to help select students who are in need of specific individual contact because of questionable enrollments and, at the same time, provides data which make individual interviews more productive.
