Abstract: | The author responds to his discussants by trying to remain true to the principles he posited in the main paper, that is, in abiding by the Ethics of translation. Resorting to Goethe’s wisdom, he comes to the conclusion that in trying to formulate into one’s own idiom the ideas of others, a psychoanalyst should try to reach for the untranslatable in the other’s discourse. |
