The intergenerational bamboo king myths of ethnic minorities in southwest China,show multi-dimensional reflecting the religious ideas of various ethnic groups of the Southwest.This paper investigates the spread and impact of bamboo king myths,analyses bamboo worship reflected on the religious ceremonies of ethnic minorities in southwest.The paper holds that bamboo king myths which are the characteristics with the original thinking of ethnic groups in southwest imply the cultural elements of nature worship,totemism and ancestor worship belonging to ethnic minorities in southwest China.Bamboo king myths and bamboo worship have long-term impact on social life of various ethnic groups of the Southwest,its thinking of the myths reflects religious complex and ecological consciousness of ancestors of all ethnic groups.
