Tomasello's Constructional Notion about Language Acquisition

The usage-based theory of language acquisition advanced by Michael Tomasello argued that the language acquisition of children was a process of gradual construction based on usage and guided by function,and the preconditions of ontogenetic language acquisition were the biological basis inherited phylogenetically and the language environment passed down culturally and historically.This paper explored Tomasello's constructional notion of language acquisition within the frame of Piaget's classical constructionism.
