Bronfenbrenner' s Concept of Human Development:From Cradle to Maturity

Bronfenbrenner’s theory is recognized as a pivot in terms of the construction of human development theory.This evolving theory has not only realized a static-to-dynamic transition of the concept of human development,but also has proposed a brand new perspective and theoretical framework.Based on the historical investigation,this paper reviews the origin and evolution of Bronfenbrenner’s idea completely,focusing on its new concepts of human-environment relationship,developing person and context within ecological perspective,concepts of process,person,context,and time within bioecological model and some problems related with applications.
