Abstract: | After the evaluation of the anamnestic, clinical, and paraclinical data of 100 children and young persons with functional headache, the conclusion is reached: It is not considered cogently necessary; on clinical, paraclinical, therapeutic, and prognostic grounds, to differentiate between tense headache and migraine (complicated migraine forms excepted) in functional headache in children. A prevalence of girls below the age of 12, as described in literature, was not confirmed. Only from the age of 12 is there an increase in proportion of girls as first sufferers of functional headache. Short-term prognosis suggests effective non-medicamentive treatment. |
