A Counterexample To Miller And Farr's Algorithm For The Index Of Redundancy

Miller and Farr's algorithm for the index of redundancy is shown to be incorrect by means of a counterexample. It is also argued that their interpretation of the proportion of the total variance in one multivariate response explained by another multivariate response with respect to a given component of the first response is misleading.
