朱熹论墨子之兼爱说

墨子的兼爱说被孟子攻击为“无父”。此后 ,儒家学者大多照着孟子说 ,既未能作出深入分析 ,也未能消除对兼爱无父说的疑惑。兼爱说所内涵的普遍人性理念和天地人一体的思想实际上已被宋代理学家融摄。出于严儒墨之辨的学派意识 ,朱熹重整兼爱无父说 ,同时也深入分析了兼爱说产生的主客观原因 ,对兼爱说作了较为客观的评价。

Zhu Xi on Maozi's Doctrine of Fraternity

Mencius has argued that Mozi's idea of fraternity actually means "the discard of Father". Most Consucian scholars, while following Mencius'suit, have neither deeply analyzed it, nor eliminated the uncertainty about the claim that fraternity leads to "the discard of Father". The idea of the universal human nature and of the integrated whole of heaven, earth and man embodied in fraternity has been adopted by the idealist philosophy of Confucianism during the Song Dynasty. To compact the Confucian and Mozi's philosophy, Zhu Xi has reconsidered the idea of fraternity and "the discard of Father", and at the same time, he has deeply analyzed the subjective and objective causes of its birth, offering his comparatively objective evaluation.
