Aphasia and congenital deafness: A case study
Authors:Judy K. Underwood  Connie J. Paulson

Abstract:The case of a 57-year-old congenitally deaf man who suffered a cerebral vascular accident is presented. Resultant symptomatology included right hemiplegia and aphasia. The authors' findings and conclusions concur with a small, but slowly growing, body of literature which suggests that the fundamental linguistic processes are the same for the congenitally deaf and for the normal hearing population.
