Development of Psychology in Developing Countries: Factors Facilitating and Impeding Its Progress
Authors:John G. Adair  Cigdem Kagitcibasi
Abstract:This special issue focuses on the factors facilitating and impeding discipline development in developing countries. Eight articles, originally presented in two IUPsyS-sponsored symposia at the International Congress of Applied Psychology in Madrid, Spain in July 1994, articulate the conditions under which research is conducted and which influence discipline progress in developing countries. This introduction summarizes the commonalities among these papers and their implications for the future of the discipline.
