William James' Influences on Husserl's Phenomenology

This thesis analyzes James' phenomenologieal method in describing religious experience, his reject of psychologism and his theories such as intentioriality, reality, ego etc, all of which are original studies in phenomenology field. Although James was not conscious of devoting his attention to Phenomenology, these original works indicate James" important influences in the development of Husserl's phenomenology .
