Power,Knowledge and Psychiatric Themes:the visual angle of michel foucault

Discussion on power has become increasingly important in psychiatric field.Michel Foucault,the French philosopher ,has discussed much about the nature of power and knowledge as well as the relationship between them. Foucault challenged and reflected some psychiatric themes such as psychosis, mental hospital, diagnosis, treatment etc. and pointed out the underlying power issue behind these themes and the historical and cultural attributions of those themes. These discussions enable us to rethink these themes and pay more attention to the humanistic aspects.
