"Roxane Cohen Silver is an internationally known expert in psychological responses to trauma. Her exceptional research has examined adjustment to an array of crises, including sudden loss, war, natural disasters, community violence, and the 9/11 attacks. As an advisor to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and in testimony to Congress, she has shaped policy concerning psychosocial dimensions of disaster preparedness and response.
