Abstract:The purpose of the two studies described in this paper is to validate the dimensionality of the job involvement construct through empirical testing of existing measures. The cumulative results of these studies suggest that job involvement is a unidimensional construct which can be operationalized in terms of one's psychological identification with work. Implications of the results and future research issues are discussed.
