Sepsis is the systemic inflammatory response syndrome induced by infection ,which can develop into multiple organ dysfunction syndrome ,even shock ,which is the major cause of death in critically ill patients .Glucocorticoid is an important auxiliary drug for sepsis ,but its dosage ,course of treatment and time has been controversial by now .The mechanism of glucocorticoid in the treatment of sepsis is to inhibition the inflammatory response in the body .This article reviews the historical course and explores the therapeutic strategy of glucocorticoid in the treatment of sepsis .
