Her current research is on gender and cross-cultural psychology.;Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She has written extensively on psychosocial and mental health issues in women who are coping with major life stressors. Her current research focuses on factors promoting mental health in persons with chronic physical illnesses and in their family caregivers.
