Abstract:This paper briefly considers the differences between minicomputers and microcomputers and the implications of these differences for data-generating simulations. The important difference is that between a timesharing and a single-user system. Finally, a hybrid model of survey research is presented. This model has some unusual features and is suitable for either type of computer.
