| Abstract: | White and black prison inmates differ psychometrically from the general population mainly on the g factor of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised. The average white-black difference is also predominantly a difference in g, although the groups also differ in spatial ability independently of g. The higher Performance than Verbal subtest scores typically found in criminal offenders is a relatively weak effect when g is removed. |
