David Ward received his Ph.D. from Temple University, where he wrote his dissertation on identity conditions for material objects through time. He has been an assistant professor of philosophy at Widener University since 1980. He is currently working on problems of the identity of persons, works of art, and material objects. In addition, he has begun work on a book concerned with professional ethics for information scientists.
