Abstract:R. Lickliter and H. Honeycutt (2003) attempted to create a dynamic developmental systems theory of evolutionary psychology. In this commentary, the author argues that the quality of their reasoning, their conflation of evolution and evolution by natural selection, their failure to explain the relative importance of multilevel, epigenetic interactions, their lack of population thinking, and their failure to define adaptation undermines their endeavor.
