Abstract: | Fifty males, 17 and 18 years of age, and their natural parents were given the Blacky Defense Preference Inventory to investigate the relationship between selected variables and intrafamily similarity of defense preferences (SDP). The results indicated that maternal age, parental identification, and birth order of son were related to son-mother SDP. However, paternal age, parental identification, and birth order of son were not associated with son-father SDP. The data indicated that son-father and son-mother SDP were highly correlated, and that husband and wife were inclined to have similar defense preferences. Socioeconomic class was not related to son-father or son-mother SDP. |
