| Abstract: | This paper presents a new equating method the kernel method of test equating. First, the historical background of the research is introduced, followed by its main features and its five steps （presmoothing, score probability estimation, eontinuization, equating, and compu- tation of standard error of equating）. Then the differences between the kernel method and other traditional observe score equating methods are stated and the last part presents the evaluation and comments on the kernel method. |
