Abstract: | In this article the biblical story of David is analyzed to determine what is the most effective form of counseling and why. Although the mere presence of values does not guarantee success, the absence of values in the counseling process can lead to disastrous results. The author concludes that the most effective method is one that is suffused with the highest values and that leads the individual to evaluate himself or herself in light of those values. |
