Chinese Satiation:Evidences,Factors and Prospects

Prolonged gaze into a Chinese character induces a feeling of uncertainty,a phenomenon named as Orthographic Satiation.Chinese characters as the ideogram,Chinese Satiation and its occurrence stage are highly concerned by researchers.The current review introduces the evidence and occurrence stage of Chinese Satiation,and then summarizes the factors influencing of Chinese Satiation,including semantic processing depth,repetition times of experimental materials,and types of experimental materials.Based on that,it is suggested that the future research can make a more in-depth discussion on Chinese Satiation of Chinese L2 learners,separation of Semantic Satiation from Orthographic Satiation and experimental materials.
