Mental Representation Philosophy and Its Connectionist Annotation

It is important to provide a fully naturalistic explanation of mental representation. But these have rested on strong presuppositions about representation of concepts and propositions, then we must capture the philosophical accounts of representation of concepts and propositions. Connectionists also provide explanation of mental representation, however, it is not very clear for connectionism to distinguish the form of a representation. In terms of what it is that is supposedly being represented and how this is being done, we can divide connectionist representation into four types. In general, there are not severe mapping between connectionist representation and philosophical views of representation. Connectionist methodology may be the multi- methodology of Feyerabend, that is, "whatever can do".
