Dilemma and the Countermeasures of E-professionalism in the Internet Era

The blurring of private and professional lives on social networking sites has led to ethical and medical professionalism concerns for medical staff.This paper starts with the definition and current situation of E-professionalism,discusses the impact of inappropriate online expressions and behavior of medical staff on the reputation of their hospital and the whole health care community.Potential privacy breach caused by the disclosure of information by both doctors and patients through social media,and inappropriate online communication are both challenges to medical practice and their career development.We hope that we can effectively deal with the challenges of medical professionalism in the Internet era by putting the E-professionalism into the law,the internal norms of the profession and the whole process of medical education.
