Re-analysis on the Subject Orientation of Medical Ethics and Bioethics

The question of "who covers who" seems important to medical ethics and bioethics, but it seems inessential when it comes to their roles in applied ethics. Medical ethics is affiliated to medicine, however, bioethics is an emerging multi-discipline. The author addresses that the issue of disciplinary/subject orientation involves more than who and why, but also the coordinates. To explore the orientation and position of a discipline, both the historical tracing and current impact factors are necessary. Moreover, the re-analysis on the two subjects orientation reminds us that, both medical ethics and bioethics have their own independence status, misleading caused by their discipline positioning should be avoided.
