Analysis and Countermeasures of Existing Ethical Problems in ICU

Exposed ethical problems in ICU mainly include:excessive medical treatment, neglect of medical ethics, problems of informed consent, economic and ethical issues for long-term ICU patient, ethical issues of treatment strategies for end-of-life patients, and related ethical issues of burnout of ICU medical staff. The authors put forward the ethical path to solve the above problems:to avoid excessive medical treatment by rationalizing medical charges; to enhance credibility by strengthening medical staff's sense of duty; to fully act informed consent by intensive communication; to integrate moral principle and benefit properly on end-of-life ICU patients; to scientifically use scarce resources by regulating ICU admission standards; and to ease doctor-patient conflicts by spreading medical ethics knowledge.
