Potential legislative inroads into personnel psychology: Appropriate reaction measures

Abstract:This article discusses an emerging interest on behalf of state legislators in the area of preemployment psychological testing. Along with describing specific legislation which has been recently introduced and defeated, public policy issues stimulating such initiatives are identified. Given the commonality of issues across all forms of testing, the importance of the psychology profession's involvement in opposing such legislation is identified and advocated.
