Consistent Laddering: A New Approach to Laddering Technique

This article describes a new approach to the laddering technique named consistent laddering, which is intended to mitigate certain issues found in traditional laddering, and to provide means to gain additional insights into participants’ construing. The basic idea behind consistent laddering is that the data collected in an interview is used to calculate indicators of (in)consistency, which can be inspected for guidance. A special software has been developed to assist in conducting interviews.
