Abstract: | Hard-core stutterers require long-term self-help maintenance skills. In spite of how successful the laboratory achievement of fluency skills is, it is inevitable that some stuttering either remains or returns after termination of therapy. Most successful programs develop self-help skills so that the severe stutterer can continue to generate acceptable speech. This maintenance program is intended to complement any therapy and integrates the stutterers self-help skills into his or her life-style. |
