A Small But Difficult Step

I feel we are in the midst of a cultural Walpurgisnacht or Halloween -the demon-ridden nights on which the old king or old culture dies and during which the new one comes forth. In the recent Los Angeles crisis the opposites of fear-driven, repressive order and passion-driven rebellion separated too far, creating a chasm and expressing a chaos that is everywhere on earth now close to the surface. Not surprisingly, the pattern of such repeated convulsions also underlies the process of labor that eventually could lead to birth.
