Abstract: | This article addresses concerns and needs as one approaches old age. The beauty of being old is what one has discarded and what one has kept. Jung's idea of the opposites is explored as well as the need to reconcile them as one gets older. Examples of men and women attempting to accept the fate of being old illustrate the author's main theme that beauty resides in the reconciliation of the ego taking a new and less dominant position in relation to the Self. |
