The virtues of the SDS and its associated typology: A second response to Prediger and Hanson
Authors:John L Holland
Affiliation:Johns Hopkins University U.S.A.
Abstract:The author reviews the evidence for the beneficial effects of the Self-Directed Search (SDS), indicates that Hanson and Prediger have misinterpreted the theory, that their evidence is misleading, and that other evidence indicates that males and females of the same type are similar. The virtues of raw scores are summarized. The author recalls some methodological adventures and outlines where we are now in this controversy about the measurement of interests for special groups.
