Abstract: | This paper provides a comprehensive review of the literature pertaining to the Cattell Infant Intelligence Scale. Test construction, reliability, and validity issues are discussed and comparisons are made with other similar infant development measures. Conclusions point out specific strengths and weaknesses of the Cattell. The paper then addresses changes which would be necessary to bring the Cattell in line with current psychometric standards. The paper also discusses concerns for the continued use of the current form of the Cattell in clinical practice. |
