Abstract: | This paper explores the ways in which the author makes use of ideas associated with diverse theoretical perspectives in working with patients who have suffered trauma. A detailed vignette contributed by Dr. Rina Lazar serves as a point of departure for the author’s consideration of how theories of regression and self-states inform a developmental perspective, and are applied in the clinical psychoanalytic situation. |
