The Teaching Reinforcer:
Abstract:This study investigated the effectiveness of a videotape reinforcement procedure with first-graders. In an ABCB design, improved phonics performance resulted in an opportunity to win a chance to be seen by classmates on TV solving mathematics problems. The procedure resulted in large improvement in phonics performance. In addition, the children also exhibited improvement in mathematics. The possible advantages of this procedure are discussed.
