Abstract: | Social workers who have their own problems with alcohol or other substances may be ineffective or harmful to chemically dependent clients. This article discusses the nature of co-dependency as it affects those who try to help alcoholic or addicted clients. It provides information about the possible extent of co-dependent social workers, the consequences of their activities, and the precautions to be taken to vitiate any harm. |
