Variability of motor strategies.

The capability of the speech motor system to be adjustable is shown through the investigation of activity patterns of the mandibular and labial muscle systems, respectively. Different individuals use individual motor strategies for the production of jaw and lip movements, different patterns of muscle activity producing the same speech motor objective.
