Personality Assessment and Children: A Critical Appraisal and Emerging Trends |
| |
Abstract: | An analysis of the criticisms of children's personality assessment and a discussion of emerging trends are offered in this review. A distinction is made between the assessment of personal and social functioning, implicit in all educational decisions, and the use of personality tests and techniques. It is noted that personality research has not been directly concerned with the professional practice issues inherent in children's personality assessment. Finally, guidelines for personality assessment are offered. |
