Reinventing the Wheel and Attacking Strawmen:

Lutzker, Touchette, and Campbell offer a rejoinder to my 1986 article on parental positive reinforcement. While I agree with their recommendations, it appears that they offer nothing new (“reinventing the wheel”) and misrepresent some of my earlier comments to make their points (“building and attacking strawmen”). As state in 1986, along with Lutzker et al. I do not recommend eliminating positive reinforcement from parenting programs.
