The roles of a patient vary greatly and may be regarded as a cluster. A patient may play diversified roles in the course of receiving his or her diagnosis and treatment, including those of an assistant or a collaborator in seeking medical hep, of an individual declining of being declined medical treatment, and of a person fighting against medical service or a voluntary subject for medical research.
