The Deductive Structure of the THOG Problem and Its Non-Wason-Brooks Decision Method

This paper discusses the deductive structure of the THOG problem and its non-Wason-Brooks Decision Method. Analyses based on the logical structure of the THOG problem and its Wason-Brooks decision procedure arrived at the following conclusions: 1)Wason-Brooks' decision method was neither an exclusive disjunctive inference nor an indispensable way;2) Which kind of deductive model would be adopted by a subject depended on how the original problem was transformed and represented equivalently; 3) Failure in finding out the true THOG for a subject might mean that there was some kind of obstacle in the equivalent transformation of the representation of the THOG problem or in the span of short-term memory.
