Investigation on the Current Prevalence of High Normal Blood Pressure and Related Risk Factors among Civil Servants

The prevalence of high normal blood pressure among 516 civil servants in J ilin Province was analysed, and binary logistic regression analysis was applied to analyze the related risk factors. The prevalence of high normal blood pressure was 34.9 %. High normal blood pressure group had higher levels of body mass index （BMI）, waistline, fasting blood glucose （FBS） , total cholesterol （TC） , low density lipoprotein cholesterol （ LDL- C） , triglyceride （TG） , serum creatinine, blood uric acid,cardio-ankle vascular index （CAVI） than normal blood pressure group, as well as the prevalence of the metabolic syndrome （MS）, but lower levels than people with hypertension. The level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL--C） was lower than normal group but higher than hypertension group. Male gender,dyslipidemia were highly re lated to the prevalence of high normal blood pressure. The control strategies should be focused on strengthens monitoring and intervention for high normal blood pressure among civil servants, and decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease.
