| Abstract: | To investigate the cause, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of Wernicke encephalopathy after Gastrointesti- nal surgery, the retrospective study was conducted on the cases of clinical data about Wernicke encephalopathy after Gastrointestinal surgery. Five cases of Wernicke encephalopathy get correct diagnosis timely , and they were treated with Vi- tamin B1 in time, and survived. One patient had poor effect on ataxia. One patient died with misdiagnosis. The Clinical manifestations of Wernicke encephalopathy is not typical, to the patients whose ambrosia time is over 2 weeks after Gastrointestinal surgery, getting correct diagnosis timely, full dose Vitamin B1 replenishing is the key point. |
