Abstract:The purpose of this study was to compare the degree of ego identity achieved in adolescents who had been identified as having behavioral problems with those who were reported not to have behavior problems. Six hypotheses were tested--one for a general identity score and five for subscale scores on the ego identity instrument. Four of the six hypotheses were significant in the expected direction.
